Solar Collectors for Drying Herbs, Coffee, and Seeds

This dryer utilizes solar energy as the primary source of heat and biomass as an alternative source, where only electric energy is used for the fan.

Sunlight is directed directly onto the panel, which has openings through which air is drawn into the panel and heated by the solar energy effect. Then, this heated air is directed through the ducts and to the heat exchanger, to pass through the 14 trays that can be filled with different types of herbs or spices.

When sunlight is low, the dryer can continue its process using natural gas or biomass.

The panel or roof is tiltable, allowing easy orientation toward the sun, and also serves as protection for the product.

The trays receiving the product are made of stainless steel, a fundamental material for human consumption products.

It features a measurement system for relative humidity and sensors for permanent control of the entire process.

The arrangement of the trays and their quantity allows selecting the appropriate level for the dehydration of each type of aromatic herb or spice, as there are significant differences in moisture content in each. This results in a more selected, faster, and higher-quality product.
