Ecological technology for washing coffee in a process with natural fermentation.
With CENICAFE's ECOMILL® technology, the specific water consumption is REDUCED from 20 L/kg of dry parchment coffee (dpc) to values between 0.3 and 0.5 L/kg of dpc. The pollution generated in the process is reduced by over 90%, mixing pulp and mucilage.
With ECOMILL®, over 98% of the mucilage present in the depulped coffee is removed, resulting in high-quality physical and sensory coffee.

ECOMILL® by CENICAFE utilizes a significant portion of the existing infrastructure in processing mills, such as dry receiving hoppers, pulpers, sieves, pulp transport screw, and fermentation tanks.
Components of an ECOMILL® module by CENICAFÉ manufactured by JM ESTRADA:
- Stainless steel coffee receiving hopper.
- Star pulper, for waterless pulping, one or more depending on capacity.
- Stainless steel screw conveyor for waterless pulp transport.
- Screw conveyor for depulped coffee to waterless fermentation tanks, manufactured in stainless steel.
- One or several fermentation tanks, depending on equipment capacity, made of stainless steel.
- Mechanical conveyor of coffee with mucilage at the washing point by stainless steel screw conveyor.
- Low-water consumption washer in stainless steel.
