Description
Water and honey resulting from the coffee processing have high Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). These need to reduce wastewater pollution, requiring the construction of a treatment system that ensures an effluent suitable for irrigation or discharge into a water source.
JM Estrada provides water treatment plants adapted to the volumes of contaminated water generated daily. The proposed system for treating wastewater from the Beneficio, located within the treatment plant, consists of the following components:
- Retention reactors made of stainless steel.
- Solid separator made of stainless steel.
- Septic system.
- Upflow anaerobic filters.
The effluent from the wastewater treatment system can be discharged directly into a water source as it complies with Colombian legislation. However, it is recommended to do so on the soil so that the existing vegetation can extract the nutrients, turning it into BIOFERTILIZER before reaching the contaminated water source.
